  • When the Mexican restaurant is actually packed with Latinos I feel safe ignoring whatever Yelp says and giving it a try. Let’s see if this holds for Los Robles in Denver.

    Good morning.

16 yr old fast asleep on living room couch. A blue white pitty mix dog is perched on their face. The dog is yawning.

  • Finished reading: How to Change Your Mind by Michael Pollan 📚

Pollan’s work is an excellent introduction to psychedelics that covers their history all the through to current medical use cases and research. I deal with ADHD + C-PTSD and wanted to know if psychedelics might be helpful in quite literally changing my mind.

The short answer appears to be yes which led to my first field trip, which was indeed helpful and enlightening. That’s a story for another time.

  • Love the Outpost theme by @mikehaynes! It is the type of Mb theme I’ve been longing for. I took the time to customize it with my own colors and fonts for my own blog.

  • Having a blast reading comics on the Omnibus app. This is the most fun I’ve had “beta testing” anything. omnibus.app

It is not a subscription service. You pay for what you want and keep it, an online comic shop kind-a, at least from what I can tell so far. They carry a lot of great indie publishers (is Image still considered “indie”). They don’t want screenshots yet so let me just say the reading experience is pretty damn good.

  • Finished reading: Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman 📚

Didn’t finish it. It is a greatest hits of this type “be present, avoid modern distractions” book. If you’ve never read anything like that, I’d recommend it. But I found myself taking the books own advice and stopping early!

Super challenging book that left me with a lot of questions but the primary mental health message hit home big time. I ordered a physical copy so I can go through it slowly and do some of the mental health exercises.

Very satisfying. It is full of spoilers (book calls out per chapter spoilers) so you really need to finish the trilogy first.

  • “Want to achieve great things? All you need is a plan and not quite enough time. - Leonard Bernstein

Inspiring? Yes. An exhausting way to live? Also yes. ADHD makes this my default mode and I must use mental health tools to find a sustainable way to achieve great things.
