Dear Baby Yoda, For 2020 I wish for a kicking ass and taking names team up show starring Cara Dune and Frankie Adams. Amen.

Christmas 2019 memories.

Laura and Alana enjoy a quiet snuggle in front of the fire before everyone else wakes up. These quiet moments are the best part of the holiday for me.

Our family just finished watching Klaus on Netflix. It has been a while since a movie made all of us laugh and cry together. It has an Emperor’s New Groove, um, groove to it. youtu.be/taE3Pwurh…

They bring so much joy into our home.

Loved it.

“To the many evangelicals who continue to support Mr. Trump in spite of his blackened moral record…. If we don’t reverse course now, will anyone take anything we say about justice and righteousness with any seriousness for decades to come?” Trump Should Be Removed from Office

Two hours to go.

Dog 1, Hearing Aid 0

Fast and Fierce (my two youngest) finished Halo Reach tonight. It was their first real co-op game and they made a great team. I warned them it would be a sad but courageous ending. They teared up a bit when it was over and then celebrated their victory. Good night Spartans.

Reno 911 is getting a season 7. It isn’t clear if this is a reboot or picking up the story a decade later. Regardless, this makes me unreasonably happy. Reno 911 was one of my guilty, super cringy pleasures back in the day.

A rare work day with the love of my life. Our work and personal schedules aligned for the first time in a long time. Too long.

Dear Baby Yoda

The White Democratic Debate?

I am sad about Kamala Harris dropping out of the race. She had qualified for the December debate and so far was the only non-white canidate to do so. That might change between now and December 12, the deadline to qualify. Race is not the deciding factor in who I will eventually vote for in the …

The first of the Robot Overlords invaded our home. It wasted no time attacking our floors.

We walked a mile in the snow, both ways, to partake of the world’s best sticky buns from the Foxtail bakery. We would have walked 500 more.

Italian coffee….

Mike Birbiglia’s The New One is simply excellent. Watched it this evening and went to my room to find the boy sound asleep. It was thematically perfect and broke my heart a bit in the best way possible.

When you over do it at Thanksgiving…

The Force is with Story Mode

I love that games like Jedi Fallen Order and Horizon Zero Dawn have a “Story Mode” setting. This makes the combat super easy which means that my kids can experience the rich stories in both games. And also, you know, be Jedis!

I’m feeling very grateful this evening. I’ve learned so much. I’ve got an amazing set of challenges and opportunities in front of me. This is one of the few days in my early 40s where I feel like I’m aging well… like this bourbon. Cheers to all of you!

Strong Daughter has been battling a high fever all day. Skye has been by her side providing all the comfort and security her little dog heart can.

Watchmen. I’ve never seen anything like episode six. It captures an emotional complexity about real life in a way that only the comics genre can.

Joe Abercrombie’s The Blade Itself has been on my list for years. I finally started listening this weekend and it is the exciting, fun, character driven fantasy adventure I was hoping for. But friends, the real treasure is narrator Steven Pacey who brings each character to life.

Friday Family nights are officially Baby Yoda nights now.
